About Us

Citizenship Initiative

Delta Dental of Massachusetts, headquartered in Charlestown, MA, is committed to making our Commonwealth a better place for all of us. In 2015 alone we supported 50+ community organizations.
Because the needs are diverse, the organizations we support with our funds and our employee’s work are many and multifaceted.
Our funds helped strengthen the dental safety net and community support organizations serving thousands of at-risk children, families, disabled, and elderly across the Commonwealth.
We helped organizations that feed the hungry, that empower young leaders, that are working to end health disparities and inequity, and that help our neighbors who are struggling with chronic illness and addiction.
We have been making sure oral health is included in health care discussions across the state and that families understand the connection between oral health and economic opportunity.
Here is a snapshot of what we’ve been doing.

Improving the Oral Health of All...

...that is the mission of Delta Dental. Our dental plans follow individuals through the stages of their lives from single, young adults, to families with young children, parents with college-age children, and seniors entering retirement. We support dental care safety net organizations that help individuals who do not have insurance so they access quality, affordable dental care.

Cultivating Future Leaders

The Charlestown Boys and Girls Club is a community touch point for kids in elementary school through high school. We started by underwriting a summer camp week for teens, added a scholarship for graduating seniors, invited high school juniors and seniors to our offices for a job shadowing day for high school students and during our Mission Month, our staff brought science fair fun to the Charlestown Club for children of the neighboring elementary schools. We are proud to be a partner with the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club in their work of fostering engaged, healthy children who will one day be leaders in our host neighborhood.

Supporting Strong Families

Every year, Delta Dental employees assemble and donate backpacks in the fall and donate toys during the holidays to Housing Families which serves at risk families living in  emergency shelters in our neighboring towns. Delta Dental is honored to support Family Service of Greater Boston, The Children’s Trust, The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Big Sisters of Greater Boston and many more. These organizations are helping families raise healthy children and keep adolescents strong amidst difficult life challenges.

Serving Communities with Healthy Food

Delta Dental employees are active in local organizations focused on getting healthy food to needy families. One organization that we are fond of is Community Servings. The agency delivers healthy lunches and dinners to individuals who are homebound with acute illness. For these neighbors and their families, a Community Servings meal is truly a life saver. During Mission Month, a full month when Delta Dental employees are encouraged and supported when they voluteer in the community, we roll up our sleeves and join other caring and generous volunteers at the Community Servings kitchens to prepare the meals. We are also a proud sponsor of the annual LifeSavor dinner fundraiser and every November when we are giving thanks, we are also supporting the Community Servings Pie in the Sky program.

Building a Vibrant and Healthy Commonwealth

As a leading employer, Delta Dental is an active member of the Massachusetts business community. It is important that we work together to ensure the state’s business climate is strong, that there is economic opportunity, and that we have a skilled and well educated workforce. We support the NAACP, Urban League, Operation A.B.L.E, the YMCA and YW Boston and provide employment to veterans and other individuals of all ages from economically, racially and occupationally diverse backgrounds.
