What are Delta Dental’s participation requirements?

For contributory plans, a group must have at least ten employees enrolled. The following participation requirements must also be met: 
 
  • For companies with 10 to 49 employees, 80% must enroll in the dental plan.
  • For companies with more than 50 employees, 70% must enroll in the dental plan.
 


When will my client receive their ID cards?

ID cards will arrive within 10 business days of the time Delta Dental receives the enrollment form.
 


Does Delta Dental prorate the premium charge for changes in enrollment?  

Yes, the amount of the premium charge you incur depends on the effective date of the addition or change.  
 
Subscriber Additions:
If you add a subscriber and the effective date is prior to or on the 15th of the month, the bill will reflect a full month’s premium. If the effective date is after the 15th, there will be no premium charge for the subscriber for the month.
 
Subscriber Terminations:
If you terminate a subscriber and the effective date is prior to or on the 15th of the month, there will be no premium charge for the month. If the effective date is after the 15th, the bill will reflect a full month’s premium for the subscriber.

Can I get a quote for a group that is located out of state?

No, Delta Dental of Massachusetts can provide a quote only if the company is headquartered in Massachusetts.  
 


My client has employees throughout the United States. How will that affect their benefits?

Out-of-state employees enjoy excellent coverage, thanks to our national networks. And, if their dentist isn’t part of the Delta Dental networks, they can take advantage of our out-of-network benefits.
