A Dental Clinic Makeover at The Dimock Center
Who doesn't love a good makeover? This month, we worked with The Dimock Center to transform the way families and children engage with their oral health. Our team spent a day creating a fun and welcoming children's waiting area for the health center's dental clinic. Watch to see the before and after!
"Special Smiles" at Special Olympics Massachusetts
Such a great day last month spending time with
Special Olympics Massachusetts in the "Special Smiles" tent at the Summer Games!
More than 300 athletes received dental services, including screenings and mouthguards, thanks to the amazing volunteer students and faculty from local dental schools. We were honored to be a part of it!

Meet Dr. Eyad Mayani
Mayani Dental Group
Patients of Dr. Mayani say they love their dentist’s positive attitude and the personal, “human touch” he brings to his practice, the Mayani Dental Group and Mayani Dental Brighton.
Prioritizing the comfort of his patients, Dr. Mayani believes in letting confidence speak for itself. “Having confidence in your craft is key. When you’re confident in your work, you do a good job and when you do a good job, your patients gain confidence in you. After that, you can relax and connect with them on a human level.” Breaking down that wall and connecting with patients as individual people is part of what makes the experience at Dr. Mayani’s office so unique. He takes the time to get to know his patients, which helps keep them at ease.
Outside of the office, Dr. Mayani loves getting in touch with his creative side. Writing lyrics for and playing in his band (with his office IT guy and a former patient!), Dr. Mayani believes in the importance of sensitivity and observation in and out of the office. “Dentistry is a craft, an artistry. To be a successful dentist, you have to be a sensitive and observant person. The creative side helps me with that part of the job as a dentist.”
Dr. Mayani takes pride in his staff and ensures the best care for all of his patients. “We are always, always, always available to our patients during an emergency, no matter how busy we are. Our staff is always helpful and courteous to provide the best care.” As a practice, they also devote time to connecting with their patients outside of the office. Using their recently launched social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Website), Mayani Dental Group works to expand that relationship beyond the office walls.
A Tufts graduate, Dr. Mayani has devoted 21 years to his craft. After starting in a small practice in New Hampshire, Dr. Mayani moved to Boston in 2014 where he now has two practices - one in the financial district and one in Brighton. He loves what he does and he is proud of what he has built - and his patients love him just as much.
Meet Dr. George McEachern III
George McEachern III, DMD, of Cambridge Pediatric Dental Associates is our latest honoree who is dedicated to improving the oral health and well-being of young patients.
It takes a passionate dentist to accomplish what Dr. George McEachern has: over 50 years of clinical practice improving the oral health and well-being of young patients. His dedication to pediatric dentistry and orthodontics shines in a myriad of ways. Early in his career, back in 1970, he opened the first pediatric dental practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he continues to practice to this day.
He pioneered many aspects of treatment, adapting and customizing state-of-the-art treatments while maintaining a holistic approach to his patients’ well-being. Always an early adopter of new dental technologies, he has continuously set a high standard of patient care in the Boston/Cambridge area. His personal interest in his patients and their families, in combination with a wide breadth of individualized treatments, has resulted in his patients’ knowing and liking him personally from toddlerhood through adulthood.
Dr. McEachern's inspirational leadership and mentorship cultivate the compassionate, thoughtful, and highly skilled team at Cambridge Pediatric Dental Associates. His clinical expertise and unwavering commitment to providing the very best care to his patients continue to improve pediatric dentistry. It's no wonder that the "McEachern Smile" is an identifiable feature of many Boston area residents, young and old.
Meet Dr. Mark Stone
Our Beyond the Chair honoree this month is Dr. Mark A. Stone, D.M.D of Pediatric and Family Dentistry of Norwood. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine in 1976, Dr. Stone has dedicated his life to helping his patients and giving back to his community.
Dr. Stone has been involved in the “Elder Dental Program,” since the establishment in 1999. The program aims to engage fellow practitioners as volunteers to help serve underprivileged senior citizens. The program has won a number of awards and has run 40 clinics over the past 20 years. Dr. Stone and over seventy fellow practitioners have volunteered and provided dental care to deserving seniors. The organization has since been recognized at the Massachusetts State house by Health Care Law Advocates for their outstanding contributions to the community.
Alongside Ms. Judith Shannon, of The Massasoit Dental Assisting Program, Dr. Stone has helped run 40 clinics over the past 20 years. He has also received the “Volunteer Award” at Gillette Stadium and secured a substantial donation to the cause from The Kraft Foundation.
We look forward to seeing even more wonderful work by Dr. Stone and his team within their community.
Meet Dr. Sydney Frasca
Dr. Sydney L. Frasca, D.M.D of Frasca Family Dental is our latest honoree who thrives on helping others.
Devoted to patients in and out of the office, Dr. Frasca always seems to find herself helping others by taking care of both the smile and the person behind it.
Dr. Frasca has been a Tiffany Circle Member of the American Red Cross for over five years where she has donated $10,000 annually to her local American Red Cross Branch to help families in the community recover from emergencies such as house fires and floods. She also hosts blood drives with the help and participation of her practice. She can be seen at the drive holding the hands of patients nervous about giving blood.
In addition, she has been a Big Sister for the organization Big Brothers Big Sisters. She is also an avid supporter of her local animal rescue leagues and has become a proud “crazy cat lady” of numerous cats from Strays in Need in Danvers, MA. She even keeps a cat photo board in her patient treatment room that has pictures of her staff and patients’ furry friends.
Both Dr. Frasca and her husband work at Frasca Family Dental in Beverly, MA; a practice started by her father-in-law in 1946. All three are Tufts University School of Dental Medicine alumni. Dr. Frasca will be celebrating her 25 year graduation anniversary from the school this year.
Her passion to help her local community is inspiring. Keep up the great work Dr. Frasca!
Meet Family Orthodontics
Our “Beyond the Chair” series recognizes Delta Dental of Massachusetts professionals who are going above and beyond for their patients and local communities through outstanding community service projects or excellent patient engagement practices.
Our next honoree is the Family Orthodontics team in Westborough, MA. The practice goes above and beyond to make patients feel welcome and at home in their office.
Family Orthodontics hosts community events such as ice cream and hot dog socials every year in order to get to connect with patients and the community of Westborough. They also hold contests for patients including a lip-sync battle, Mother and Father’s Day contests and even pizza contests! Prizes for patients and parents include discounted or free treatment.
The team also makes great use of their social media accounts to keep patients engaged and updated on everything that is going on in the office. They even have a “Color my Braces” tool on their website to help patients choose their next color scheme for their braces.
Family Orthodontics is also very involved in local charities such as the Walk for Hunger and the Rise Above project to provide foster kids with much-needed school supplies as they head into college.
We are recognizing Family Orthodontics for their commitment to patient engagement and their commitment to bettering their community. Keep up the good work!
Meet Great Hill Dental
The team at Great Hill Dental Partners in Somerville goes beyond the chair to support its local community by engaging and championing Smiles for Life. Great Hill Dental Partners also supports the Career Fair at Somerville High School and raises money to support the Somerville Homeless Coalition. This dedicated team of colleagues and friends is engaged, supportive and downright amazing! Pride for the entire team runs strong but Michelle Machado, Rosa Carrasquillo and Selene Erazo have earned a special shout out for helping organize the team and always participating in the Career Fair. Great Hill Dental Partners wants to thank their team members who work hard to raise funds for the Smiles for Life Campaign to support the Somerville Homeless Coalition. This is all voluntary, they do it because they care and value people, patients and the community! This team is committed to these important causes and it is through their leadership and drive that Great Hill Dental Partners is able to support its local community in a more meaningful way.
