Account Coordinator


Account Coordinator supports client retention and growth of the current business from the corporate office.



  • On-going support of communications and service to the current clients via conference calls and department meetings.
  • Assist Account Executives and Executive Directors to ensure Delta Dental meets the terms of the RFR and contract; organize workflow between Client Engagement Department and other departments to ensure efficient and accurate outcomes.
  • Communicate client expectations to Delta Dental staff and help to ensure expectations are delivered timely and effectively.
  • Proactively trouble shoot to resolve client issues, working with multiple departments within the organization.
  • Coordinate activities that help to strengthen and expand the provider network and to participate in the planning of outreach activities to members.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and fee schedules and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Support client communication via review of reports generated for clients; ensure accuracy of information and timely delivery. Research compliance failures identified on reports.
  • Notify Executive Directors and Account Executives of deficiencies; coordinate resolution/correction of deficiencies with appropriate internal departments.
  • Complete ad hoc reports, miscellaneous tasks and projects as requested or assigned by Executive Directors and Account Executives.
  • Assist in updating Office Reference Manuals and organizing client audits. Provide ongoing training for Delta Dental staff on administration of clients; communicate information accurately and effectively.
  • Obtain letters of recommendation from clients, providers, and other organizations.
  • Update Regional Executive Director, Account Executives and Executive Directors regularly on major issues, both internal and external. Develop process improvements and increased productivity to benefit Delta Dental and the client base.
  • Perform projects as assigned by Regional Executive Director, Account Executives and Executive Directors.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • 2 years business experience in healthcare, insurance, account management or sales required.
  • Excellent Oral and Written communication skills.
  • Efficient PC skills. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and articulate regulatory language.
  • Ability to multi-task cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgment in decision-making.
  • Required to attend additional training as requested/deemed necessary.

  • Related College Degree preferred.
  • Experience in sales negotiation preferred.


  • Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Requires overall light physical effort (up to 25lbs.)
  • Manual dexterity and sitting is required in carrying out position own position responsibilities (i.e. use of personal computer).
  • Ability to travel or move about within and outside serviced facilities required.
  • Incumbent works primarily in either a private or shared office environment.
