Delta Dental® Option for Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO plans

As a Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO plan member, you can enroll in the Delta Dental® Option for just $54 a month.

How it works


With Delta Dental, you benefit from discounted rates that help you save on dental costs.

Once you meet your $50 annual deductible, Delta Dental pays some or all of the cost for your dental care, up to your $1,000 benefit maximum per year. 

Once the $1,000 is used up, you are responsible for the cost of other care you receive, but you can continue to get the Delta Dental discounted rates on dental costs.

The Delta Dental Option is in addition to your medical coverage with Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred. You need to add it to your plan. It is not automatically included.

The cost for the Delta Dental Option is just $54 a month. This cost is in addition to your Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO plan monthly premium.

The Delta Dental Option is available to members enrolled in a Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO plan.

 

How to Enroll


If you are a new member and just joined a Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO plan, you have 30 days after your coverage with Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred began to enroll in the Delta Dental Option. If you were a member last year and your membership rolled over for 2017, you have until January 31, 2017 to enroll in the Delta Dental Option.
 
If you had dental coverage with Delta Dental of Massachusetts in the last 60 days, we will waive all waiting periods so you can get coverage right away.
 
To sign up for the Delta Dental Option, call Tufts Health Plan’s Customer Relations at 1-800-701-9000 (TTY 1-800-208-9562) Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (From October 1 – February 14, representatives are available 7 days a week, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.) After hours and on holidays, please leave a message and a representative will return your call the next business day.


 


Tufts Health Plan is an HMO plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in Tufts Health Plan depends on contract renewal.

Important: Your dental benefit and coverage plan is called the “Delta Dental Option,” which requires members to seek services from providers in the Delta Dental PPO network only. Your dental benefit under this plan does not cover dental services from Delta Dental providers who are outside of the PPO network or any out-of-network providers. For additional questions regarding this benefit or provider network, please contact customer service using the number listed on your card.

The provider network may change at any time. You will receive notice when necessary.
