Large Market Sales Consultant
JOB SUMMARY
The Large Market Sales Consultant is responsible for proactively identifying, developing, and closing large group opportunities by working with consultants as well as directly with prospects. The Large Market Sales Consultant is a business development role that is accountable for meeting and achieving annual new business sales goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet and exceed new business goals by proactively identifying new opportunities and closing them.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Delta Dental’s products, corporate underwriting guidelines, and group financial arrangements.
- Expected to know and understand all relevant facts about specific prospects; risks/opportunities/objections and have a relationship with the key decision-makers before a quote or RFP is received.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all consultants and decision-makers at 1,000+ prospects.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, develop an annual sales plan that specifically outlines unique sales opportunities and business development strategies per prospect.
- Organize, track, and report on all activities, opportunities, and sales in the DDMA CRM tool.
- Understand and succinctly communicate wellness programs, digital strategies, employee engagement, product strategies, and financial strategies.
- Thorough knowledge of the market and competitors’ strategies/approaches.
- Responsible for the entire RFP process including tactical sales/pricing approach.
- Attend key meetings, conferences, and customer entertainment events.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Minimum of 8 years of sales experience
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- High competency level with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven financial acumen and analytics capabilities
- Proven ability to communicate highly complicated topics in a clear and concise way
- Track record of proactively developing large group opportunities and closing them
Preferred
- Sales experience in healthcare or dental insurance
- Bachelor’s degree
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Frequent travel
- Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively
- Requires overall light physical effort (up to 25 lbs)
- Ability to operate personal computers and related technologies
- Incumbent works primarily in a remote environment or a private or shared office environment
