Senior Snowflake Database Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Senior Snowflake Database Engineer is responsible for the design, optimization, and management of data architecture within the Snowflake Data Cloud. Key responsibilities include leveraging Snowflake's unique features—such as Cloning, Data Sharing, and Secure Views—to enhance database performance, security, and reliability. 

This role requires proficiency in Snowflake SQL, ETL workload support, and query tuning, along with expertise in integrating Snowflake with various data sources and BI tools. Additionally, the engineer will collaborate with business partners to address issues, propose optimized solutions, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. 

The position demands over ten years of infrastructure experience, strong hands-on technical skills, and the ability to manage tasks independently while staying updated on Snowflake best practices.

 

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Senior Snowflake Database Engineer

 
  • Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture and operation.
  • Proficient in Snowflake SQL and understanding of its unique features.
  • Solid understanding of Snowflake features: Cloning, Data Sharing, Secure Views, caching, Warehouse sizes, and scaling.
  • Experience with Snowflake data loading and unloading processes.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake's security features and role-based access control.
  • Knowledge of integrating Snowflake with various data sources and BI tools.
  • Strong relational database and SQL skills.
  • Optimize databases' performance, security, and reliability within the Snowflake Data Cloud platform.
  • Extensive experience in Query Tuning.
  • Stay up to date on the latest Snowflake features and best practices.
  • Integrate Snowflake with various data sources and third-party tools.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Snowflake implementations.
  • Experience in supporting/developing ETL workload.
  • Recommend the Snowflake best practices for management, monitoring, and optimization
