DDMA Celebrates a Successful Summer of Smiles

2,400 dental hygiene kits distributed to local non-profit organizations in need across the state
 

BOSTON — Sept. 12, 2023 — After the successful distribution of over 2,400 dental hygiene kits to nonprofits in over 22 cities and towns across the Commonwealth this summer, Delta Dental of Massachusetts plans to make the Summer of Smiles an annual initiative. This year’s first run of Summer of Smiles gave DDMA employee volunteers the opportunity to donate 100 dental hygiene kits to a local, non-profit organization of their choice. Next year, the program will expand to all employees, making Summer of Smiles an annual company-wide initiative.
 
The dental hygiene kits include a mesh bag filled with adult toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste, and an oral care flier in English and Spanish. Dental kits reached over 22 cities and towns in Massachusetts, including Harwich, Fall River, Boston, Lawrence, Lowell, Peabody, and Worcester.
